So, Ms.'v gave me square cast iron skillet for Christmas, for pancakes and such. After having many high-rent teflon pans bite the dust lately, we swung back to the low tech route....and it's also good for building forearm strength.
Now, this pan is slightly more than 12" on a side, with a long handle and a hanger on the other side. Probably weighs about 6 or 7 pounds. It came "pre-seasoned", which I had never seen before. There was a little info card stuck to the inside of the pan, and I was holding it up slightly above eye level since I had a cat on my lap, close to my face, to read the card. This was on Christmas morning, and I was still pretty groggy from lack of the bean.
Well, I guess I didn't choke up enough on the handle, and when I shifted my weight on the couch, it shook my arm enough to overbalance the pan and clong me squarely between the eyes.
I saw spots, and I couldn't hear too well for a few minutes, but that's probably due to my loving, caring family screaming with laughter.
