third time's the charm?
May. 3rd, 2011 08:42 pmso:
The party of the right who has struggled to implement their agenda as a minority government for the last number of years, who appeared to many eyes to be headed for a third minority and possibly force the resignation of their leader, was instead elected in a clear majority and, in the bargain, all but crushed their two most problematic opponents: the Liberals and the separatist Bloc Quebecois.
The largely socialist and youth driven NDP are now the official opposition, having achieved untold power after years and years of struggling to find political relevance at the Federal level.
We have a Green Party candidate in Parliament.
The Separatist movement, if not now dead, is at least badly, badly wounded.
I am not pleased with the outcome personally, but dayum, this election was a wild ride. And now, we won't need to do it again for awhile.
