lost weekend
Feb. 1st, 2010 10:57 amand not in a good way. The two ostensibly grown adults in the house got poleaxed by some horrific intestinal water-cannon-dehydrator style yuck starting friday night and heading right through to Sunday afternoon. So much for playing catchup with either my work agenda or my home maintenance agenda (or my sitting on my ass reading books and playing board games agenda, for that matter).
On a lighter note, I am reading Inside Out by Nick mason, Pink Floyd's drummer, and enjoying it immensely. His writing style is really a treat and his narrative of late 60's and 70's England stands entirely on its own, independent of whether anyone gives a shit about the provenance of Ummagumma.
Also, Tori Amos' new album is pretty good, but nothing seems to stand up to my first hearing of Scarlett's Walk. Under the Pink comes closest so far.
Inexplicably after feeling so rotten all weekend, I watched some of the original Jamie Oliver's Naked Chef last night. I think he's still my fave TV chef. I love his energy and his brute force approach.
Wish I had more that was worth telling. If the science fair doesn't kill us, nothing will.
