Jul. 8th, 2009 07:49 amTucked into the corner of the internetosphere, I note that Robert McNamara has passed away. I wonder why this didn't get more coverage... Incidentally if you haven't seen Fog of War I strongly urge you to do so.
Fans of Philip Pullman or British kid lit in general are encouraged to find a copy of The Scarecrow and his Servant. I was smiling the whole time. Effortlessly charming. Quite reminiscent of Roald Dahl.
Cherries!
Vacation in 8 working days, I cannot WAIT. This freezing cold july weather can suck my left nut, however. What are the odds it will be better on the shores of Lake Superior?
We watched An American In Paris two nights ago. I don't even care for dance movies much, but wholly scheisse, Gene Kelly is light on his feet. I am also VERY intrigued by Oscar Levant as a person; I'd like to learn more about him. I've had Gershwin (and also, oddly, Copland and Joplin) running out of my ears for a couple of days now. (Also, I would have taken the worldly blonde with the money. In a heartbeat).
