Ten years out of school, and I've finally managed to lose my Iron Ring. (Replacing it is a matter of a postcard and a $15 fee, but still frustrating and a bit saddening).

On a related note, my management has suddenly realized that I don't have my P. Eng. (professional certification in Ontario -- not mandatory) and that I "should really consider it". Guess I'll be hitting the books in '06.

Against my better judgement I've been picking away at "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind". The following quote was just offered up from the Gong Show period:

Unknown Comic: Hey Chuckie Baby, is my fly down?

Chuck Barris: No, I don't believe so.

Unknown Comic: Well, it should be. I'm peein'.

Og help me, I can't. Stop. Giggling.
In other news, Anansi Boys turned out excellent, as so many of you already know and as I not-so-secretly hoped. I still say, if it had been any other author, that my Three's Company-inspired fears would have been reasonable, though.

if you haven't read the book and plan to, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND the audiobook narrated by Lenny Henry. A British comic, (from, among other things, the BBC comedy "Chef") he renders the Caribbean accents in the book so wonderfully, it must be heard to be believed! 5 Stars.
