Mar. 12th, 2005 01:14 pmWe managed to get a 25 year old amplifier repaired for roughly 5% of the cost of a new amp. Now, of course, we are acting as thought we get to spend all the $$$ we "saved".
Also, as a consequence of this, I played some LPs for the first time in probably 5 or 6 years. Odd feeling, all those semiautomatic rituals of blowing dust off the vinyl, cleaning the cartridge, adjusting the pitch, queueing up the needle etc. What an oddball technology. My kids'll never believe it.
